Flight Control & Navigation Control Engineer
This role ensures the LANYX aircraft can be controlled stably, safely and verifiably. Candidates should go beyond merely tuning open‑source flight controller parameters, and possess solid understanding of flight dynamics, control laws, navigation, mode transition, simulation, log analysis and test validation.
Responsibilities
- Develop flight‑control functional schemes, design control laws and tune control parameters for the unmanned‑retrofit project.
- Build aircraft dynamic models, controlled‑object models and simulation environments.
- Design control functions for attitude, altitude, heading, trajectory, speed and other parameters.
- Contribute to navigation and state‑estimation solutions covering GNSS, INS, AHRS, airspeed, altitude and related sensors.
- Define flight modes, including manual, remote‑control, assisted, automatic, emergency and test modes.
- Collaborate with avionics engineers to complete joint interface commissioning for flight‑control computers, sensors and actuators.
- Set up or participate in SIL/HIL testing, and conduct fault injection and edge‑scenario validation.
- Support ground tests, taxi tests and flight‑test campaigns; analyze flight logs and iterate control parameters.
- Deliver flight‑control design specifications, control‑law documentation, test reports and log‑analysis reports.
Requirements
- Master’s degree preferred in Control Engineering, Aeronautics & Astronautics, Automation, Robotics, Electronic Information, Computer Science or related fields.
- Minimum 3‑year experience in flight control, navigation control, vehicle control, UAV autopilot or robotic control systems.
- Solid fundamentals in flight dynamics, classical control, modern control, state estimation, navigation, guidance and control.
- Proficient in at least two of the following tools: C/C++, Python, MATLAB/Simulink.
- Familiar with sensors and actuators including IMU, GNSS, barometer, magnetometer, airspeed sensor and servos.
- Practical experience with at least one of the following: PX4, ArduPilot, Paparazzi, ROS/ROS2 or in‑house‑developed flight‑control systems.
- Competent in flight‑log analysis, control‑parameter tuning, fault diagnosis and technical documentation delivery.
- Strong safety awareness; reject the “get‑it‑flying‑first” mindset for aviation‑project execution.
Preferred
- Hands‑on experience with fixed‑wing aircraft, large scale UAVs, OPV, eVTOL, or manned‑aircraft autopilot retrofits.
- Experience building HIL/SIL, hardware‑in‑the‑loop simulation or flight‑simulation platforms.
- Background in redundant flight control, fault detection, degraded‑mode control and loss‑link protection logic.
- On‑site flight‑test support and flight‑log post‑mortem analysis experience.
